Archangel Gabriel

Gabriel is the angel of the Annunciation. The name Gabriel means: >The power of God<. He was the angel who proclaimed the birth of her son to the Virgin Mary. He is therefore the angel of birth and hope. It is his task to accompany the unborn children's souls through the time of pregnancy.

Gabriel is often portrayed in art with a trumpet, as he has the duty to make the last trumpet sound when announcing the end of time and the last judgment. Islam also worships him as the great messenger of God. In ancient Jewish tradition, Archangel Gabriel was female, the only female angel of the heavenly hosts.

It is known that angels are actually sexless, but in energetic terms they tend to the feminine or masculine principle. Gabriel certainly tends to be most likely to be female.

The archangel Gabriel stands for the West, with the female element water. It stands for the day of the moon, Monday, in the sign of the Cancer, whose governing planet is the moon. The moon is considered to be the most feminine of all celestial bodies.

Archangel Gabriel's colours are those of the moon: silver and shimmering crystal white. The music reminds us of the original purity and innocence, the true power, the original divine pattern.
